During worship on Friday night, six youth from four district
churches participated in an offering skit. Taken from the 2005
Winter Retreat, it was about someone who eventually stood in the
offering plate. At the end of the service, nine youth helped lead
everyone in lighting their candles. |

After a Coffee House sponsored by the district Peace and
Justice Committee, we watched the movie Hitch and went to bed
(eventually). Rise and shine was at 7 am the next morning,
with a simple "breakfast by Jan." Then came
another worship. We stayed with the rest of conference just a
bit, for a "roll call" of congregations with
representatives present, and then to hear about a new
fellowship being received this year into the district -
"Faithful Servants Church." We then exited for some
games. |

The new pastor of the "Faithful Servants Church,"
Janet Naill, came and shared her life story and talked with us
about this new ministry in one of the roughest neighborhoods
in Frederick. Janet grew up on the streets of Baltimore and
has a heart for the poor and outcast. Youth are invited to
come and participate in her ministry. |

We had
plenty of time to talk - about this year's activities
& about NCP (James had videos he made for
both) |

as well as
to |

just |

hang |

out. |

We caught part of the conference business, Tim going to the
microphone to speak against moving the dates of conference
from October to June. The delegate body was swayed and voted
the proposal down (youth have a voice that is heard,
folks!)... Overall, it was a great event. See you next year in
Manassas. |
