85 youth and advisors gathered at Camp Hashawha, in Westminster, MD, for this year's Winter Retreat. Our energetic speaker for the weekend, Don Trotz, from Johnstown, PA, led us in sessions focusing on the theme of "A Light in the Darkness."
Don had many real life examples of his message, including a story of a student who was recently killed from the Johnstown high school where Don is a teacher. With some dirt and a heavy chain he demonstrated how we can become weighed down with sin. He also got us to think of things a little differently than how we may have before - how each of us can be light in our own community and school. We applied the messages through small group activities and created board games to share with the rest of the group. Don knows how to relate to youth and his enthusiasm was contagious.
And, of course, there was plenty of other fun stuff and "free time!"

"A picture is worth a thousands words..." yes, but these photos only capture a portion of the retreat. What about the cabins, the meals, the talent show, the dance, and more? Pics are be added as we receive them, so have those cameras ready at the next event.                   .... See you next year?
