M.A.D. YOUTH WINTER RETREAT
at
CAMP HASHAWA
January 25-27, 2008
theme:
Living
Peace
What Would Jesus Do?
Our leader: Chris Zepp Originally from our
district, Chris works with youth and young adults on the pastoral team of the
Bridgewater, VA Church of the Brethren.
The Sunday Morning Cabinet worship skit,
"IDK, my BFF Jesus?"
is available online for use in your church.
The theme for Saturday
evening's meal will be "Toga Party."
Come dressed for supper in your "toga."
(please wear appropriate clothing under your toga!)
Do you have talent (or pseudo
talent) to share?
Alrighty then, come prepared to let 'er rip in our
annual talent show. We need acts!!!!
Speaking of talent,
bring your guitar and join the band (additions always welcome). We may
have a keyboard, too - along with the slightly out-of-tune piano that
comes with the room. Can you sing? Well then, step right up to the mic
and join the band. Want to add some beat to the mix? We'll have an assortment of rhythm instruments available (djembe drums, bongos, guiros, maracas,
tamborenes, etc.) for you to join in with the band. Do you catch what
we're saying here? All of us are the band! So let's "make a joyful noise
to the Lord." See the
list of songs
in our "repetoire" (with links to hear them). Suggest new songs and
sets.
Saturday evening,
after the talent show, there will be a variety of options:
- a DJ dance in the dining hall
(p.s. no freak dancing, please!)
- table games
- a movie
- a campfire
There will be snacks in all locations.
The cost is $60.00 per
participant (youth & advisor)
read the guidelines carefully
