Cabinet Members
for 2001-2002

The 2001-2002 cabinet is pictured above and self-described below. What a team! "God speed" to the three seniors - Zack, Myra, and Naomi - who have moved on to other places, as well as to Brian, who is (no doubt) driving the hi-ways and bi-ways of the eastern shore. May all your wheels point you back in our direction when you can!

As of the Fall of 2001, this is what these folks were about:

Sheifa Baldwin
"I am 16 and a junior at Francis Scott Key High School. I am a member of the FCA group in our school. I have two brothers, Joshua (10) and Jonathan (9). I'm a member of Pipe Creek Church of the Brethren. I like to spend time with my friends, family, and reading. I enjoy working with the children at the Taneytown Carroll Child Care Center."
Caitlin Haynes
"Hey!  I'm 16 and a sophomore at Loch Raven High School. I go to Long Green Valley C.O.B. where my Dad is a pastor. I'm also stuck with him as an advisor, but I guess I can deal (I love you, Daddy). I love singing (especially with Myra), and being crazy with my (sometimes too) energetic youth group. I like playing field hockey, and I love playing softball for my school team. I have a younger sister and two younger brothers, and as much as they sometimes annoy me, I love working with kids. This is my first year on cabinet, and I love it so far! I hope we can plan some awesome stuff for everybody this year!
Zack Hurst
"I'm Zack Hurst (almost...18) a senior at Westminster High School, I go to the Westminster Church of the Brethren, first year on Cabinet, involved deeply with/in musical activities. Love messing with cars in my spare time. I go to the 75-80 dragway on friday nights if anybody wants to join me...um.. yeah that's it."
Ben Martin
"Wazzzzzzzzzzup? As you can probably guess from above, my name is Benjamin Mark Ritchey Martin. I'm a 15-year-old, 6 foot sophomore at the "wunerful wunerful" establishment known as Middletown High School. You can usually find me in my driveway working on my basketball post up game or in the gym doing the same thing. I live outside the town of Myersville, MD (about 20 minutes from Frederick). I live with my younger sibling Jon and my parents Tim and Donna, who are pastors at Grossnickle COB. When I'm not on the basketball court, I can be found singing in the school choir or jamming to my favorite band, newsboys.
Myra Martin-Adkins
Hey Everybody! I'm Myra, a fourth year SENIOR in the Theatre Department at the Duke Ellington School of the Arts. This is my 3rd year on cabinet and I am proud to be the longest running member, besides Jan, of course. I'm a member of the Washington City C.O.B where my mother is a pastor. I love stage managing, producing, good monologues, singing (Watch out for me and Caitlin at the Talent Show this year!), playing guitar, travelling (I hear Wichita is LOVELY this time of year...), speaking Swedish (Especially at 4am!), meeting new people, leading, and BVSers. My excitement for the upcoming district events increases daily and I can't wait to see you all and share this enthusiasm!!
Naomi Mosorjak
My name is Naomi (Nomie). I am 17 years old and a senior at Linganore High School. My dad is the pastor at Locust Grove Church of the Brethren. Yes I am a pastor's kid. I have lots of brothers and sisters (most of which don't live at home). I enjoy playing basketball, having fun, listening to music, singing, and laughing. I can't wait to see all of you at the district events (the spring thing picnic is at my church please come!). Any questions? Come ask me :)
Dan Rudy
"I am Daniel Lester Rudy. I like to be called Dan, Rudy, or whatever you want to call me. I am a 15 year old unspoken for sophomore at Linganore High School. Also I am an active member of Glade Valley COB. I like to play golf, football, and baseball. As far as clubs you name it I'm probably involved in it. I have one sibling, my brother Adam (9). I am 5' 7", red headed and muscular. In the future I plan to attend one of the Brethren colleges (preferably Bridgewater) and after that become a pastor. See ya at the events."
Brian Walbridge
"I am a 16-year-old Junior at Easton High School. I am a newcomer to the district youth cabinet and am very excited about it. I go to the Easton Church of the Brethren, and am active in many of the youth activities. I like to skateboard and have been doing so for 6 years. I am also a huge car enthusiast. I also like to do all those other teenage things like hang out with friends, listen to music - stuff like that. Right now I have no clue what I want to do when I graduate from high school, but I'll decide that when the time comes."
Jan Walker (advisor)
"I’m serving my fourth year as an advisor to the Cabinet.  I’m a member of the Locust Grove congregation in Mt. Airy, MD, where I’ve been working with the youth for the past 12 years (that means I’ve survived 3 NYC’s  as an advisor, and looking forward to the next one this summer).  I graduated from Towson State University, back when “State” was still in the name, with a Computer Science degree.  My paying job is as a computer programmer/analyst and air pollution scientist with an environmental consulting firm in Columbia, MD.  Of course, the job(s) that I don’t get a paycheck for is all the church volunteer work.   Besides being one of the leaders for youth group, youth Bible Study,  and Sr. High Sunday school class, I also serve on the Music and Worship Committee and play piano for the music team during worship services.  In my spare time (not much of that some weeks), I enjoy sewing and needlework (especially cross-stitch), reading, playing the piano, and watching sports.  Whenever possible I am in attendance, cheering loudly, at my nephews’ games.  The past 5 summers I’ve spent a week of my vacation as a Director for Youth Camp at Shepherd’s Spring."
Pete Haynes (advisor)
"This is my second year on district cabinet. Ten years ago I co-directed the first week of Youth Camp at Shepherd's Spring. Twenty years ago I was a youth pastor in Indiana, attending my first (and thus far only) NYC in 1982. Me, my wife (Karen), and another couple formed and led the Northern Indiana District Youth Choir way back then. Does that make me old? Since attending Bethany Seminary, I've pastored two congregations - the last 11 years at Long Green Valley Church of the Brethren in the northern suburbs of Baltimore. I have four children, ages 7 to 16.  I  love camp, music, drama, Jesus, and His church. If you're still interested, check out more bio info."
