         Visit the official 2006 NYC webpage. Those who remain at home (like parents) can follow what's happening. A daily online newspaper will chronicle it all. Watch for pictures of folks you know.

  

         Looking back to the previous NYC, see the district photos from then. Listen to some of the songs we sang in 2002. Watch a backstage video taken by the bass player in the band, Brett Clark (Windows Media (Broadband Only)).

  

         By now, you should be registered. The $400 registration cost (plus more for extra events like the hike in Rocky Mountain National Park and the 5K Regnuh 5K walk/run) should already be paid, . By now you should have your transportation plans made and paid for, with the bus from the airport and back arranged if you needed it (the deadline was May 31). Find out what other youth groups' travel plans are and add your own.

         The theme for the conference is "Come and See" based on John 1:35-39. "In this passage, when the disciples asked Jesus where he was staying, instead of just telling them, he invited them to `come and see,'" the brochure for the event says. "This is in keeping with Church of the Brethren heritage; letting actions speak louder than words. By inviting the disciples to come and see, Jesus was calling them to a disciple's life. NYC is the youth of the denomination's invitation to come and see who God is calling them to become as individuals, as disciples of Christ, as the Church of the Brethren, and as people of God living in a broken world."

 
All of us from our district will be lodged in Allison Hall - the guys in one wing, the girls in the other.
Jan Walker & Pete Haynes together will be Residence Hall Supervisors.

Who is coming from your church in 2006?

         If our count of the below is correct (note: for a few congregations we're not sure who is a youth and who is an advisor), our district is sending 256 youth, 75 adult advisors, and 12 NYC staffers to Ft. Collins this summer. Check over the names to see who else is going. By the way, for internet safety reasons we only show the first name and last initial of each youth. If there are corrections, please send an email (do indicate the church with whom this person is traveling ). Also, check out the transportation plans that have thus far been shared with us.
