Call to Worship

We are alive–because God has given us breath!
We are here–because God has called us together!
We are thankful–because God loves us with an everlasting heart
We will worship–because God deserves our best!

Opening Prayer

Lord, we have come this morning from many places. We have come as children, youth, and adults all seeking the same outcome-a closer walk with you. Lord you have opened the doors of relationship unto us. You have called us to be your people and thus a blessing to the world. You have provided for us a foundation of faith from our parents and a community to share our struggles and hopes with–in the body gathered here. But most of all you have blessed us as youth with gifts for enhancing your kingdom among us. Use us in this hour, send your Spirit among us that we may honor you with all we are and bring glory to your son’s name. It is in his name that we ask it. AMEN

Stewardship Moment

The first three Sundays of November, as we look forward to Pledge Sunday on November 24, three members will share about stewardship from a personal perspective. Today's moment will share some of the basics of giving - the value of using offering envelopes, tithing, etc. Next week will lift up other ways people give financially. The final Sunday's moment will be about the stewardship of other things - like time and talents.

Invitation to bring blessings

People who trust in Jesus have great reason to give thanks. They have become part of generations who have experienced deep and abiding love and life. All who gather to sincerely worship also know the incredible blessings God has poured out on humanity. If we can see how this community of believers is growing and being strengthened by the Spirit, it seems natural that we would want to return a portion of our lives back to the one who has created and nurtured us. We have gifts of time and talent, monetary gifts, and gifts of the spirit. To continue growing, we care called to consider what we can give in all of these areas. What can you offer to contribute to the life of this community and to the world? How can you show what you have learned about receiving and giving? Please bring your blessing cups forward.

Offertory Prayer

Generous God, we have so many reasons to give thanks. You have created life within us and have opened our eyes to see the life Jesus offers. Help us to follow in the path he has set before us, building up the community and ever growing in our spirituality. We offer these gifts to you, knowing that you are able to build upon our offerings to serve in ways we many not even imagine. Continue to ground us in your spirit and word and stir us to return these blessings in the way we live our lives. AMEN

Benediction

Go now and know that God is with you. Since you have received Christ, Christ lives in you. Go now and live in him–rooted, built up, and strengthened by the faith you have been taught. Let your hearts overflow with thankfulness for God is good and God is faithful. AMEN
