Call to Worship
AN EVERLASTING LOVE

One: From the darkness of a tomb, from the coldness of a
cemetery, the light of God shines forth.
All: Your faithfulness continues, O God.

One: To Mary, to Peter, to all of Jesus’ followers who mourned
         his death,
All: Your faithfulness continues, O God.

One: In the broken lives, the lost dreams, the hungry mouths,
and the searching souls surrounding us in the here
        and now,
All: Your faithfulness continues, O God.

One: As resurrection light breaks into the gloom and despair
that fills our world, let us, as an Easter people, celebrate
God who speaks to us today in words that have echoed
        through time:
All: "I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore, I
have continued my faithfulness to you.
