Children of Abraham
(to tune: "Kings of Orient," aka "We Three Kings")

1.
We are children of Abraham
called to journey forth from this land,
guided by God’s promised blessing,
Christ's Spirit close at hand.

(chorus):  O, God who blesses us this day
call us on, help us obey.
Lead us, Lord, to be a blessing
                                                                to all upon our way.

2.
"I will bless you," thus says the Lord,
"for the world I long to restore
you shall be a blessing ever
this shall be your reward." (chorus)

3.
God, we long a blessing to be
that our neighbors may, then, be free
to become a blessing also
living in harmony. (chorus)

4.
When the path we travel seems dark
we remember this patriarch
who, by faith, obeyed God’s calling,
trekking in hope so far. (chorus)

5.
Now, by faith, we’re learning to live
needing, God, your pow’r to forgive
that our doubts may still bring blessing
to all whom, Lord, you give. (chorus)
