Call to Worship
We Come into Your Presence

Many: Our journey, as God's children, has brought us together
           in his house.

One: Be joyful and know that God's glory rests upon us.

Many: Lord, sometimes our journey is so difficult and we struggle.

One: We are blessed by God's spirit, and he holds us firmly in
           his hand.

Many: At times we grow anxious and fearful as we try to stand
firm against the "trappings" of the world around us.

One: Cast all your anxieties upon him who cares for you.

Many: The world around us tempts us and calls us to follow the
           easy way

One: God's mighty hand will support and sustain us at all times.

All: God of all grace calls to each of us.
Come, let us worship the Lord God Almighty!

Opening Prayer

"The Sower"
(by the Medical Mission Sisters)

Chorus: Sower went out to sow his seed, Sing a-men al-le-lu!
Sowed the wheat a-mong the weed, Al-le-lu!
Some fell away and some took root, Yielded a hundredfold of fruit,
Believe in the word of the Lord!

1. Fell on the foot path into town. Hear the word of the Lord.
Until a flock of birds swooped down and gobbled the word of the Lord.

2. Some fell on rocky ground. Withered the word of the Lord.
Some among the thorns was found, they choked the word of the Lord.

3. Be like a fertile field. Receive the word of the Lord.
Joy and peace will be your yield, believe the word of the Lord.

Returning our Tithes and Offerings

Bearing Fruit ... and more Fruit

1. Our Heifer International spokeswoman for this month-long emphasis will again plug this vital ministry and encourage us to "bear fruit" with our special offerings.

2. The children (some of the fruit "born" by this church) will distribute, with a hug, gift devotional booklets to all the women of the congregation, that they may read and continue to bear fruit.

Benediction
