Responsive Confession
One - Like Isaiah, we stand
before our awesome God, and cry,
All - "Woe is
me!
One - My mind is too often
full of unclean thoughts;
All - Forgive me,
Lord.
One - My heart is too often
full of unclean emotions;
All - Forgive
me, Lord.
One - My lips too often
release unclean words;
All - Forgive me,
Lord.
One - I am not alone in
this.
All - I live among
a people of unclean lips.
One - And God sent his
Messiah.
All - For us he
died.
One - The touch of his fire
is forgiveness.
All - For us he
arose.
One - The touch of his fire
is strength.
All - For us he
gave his Spirit.
One - "Your guilt has
departed, your sin is blotted out."
All - Thus says the
Lord.
One - "Now, whom shall
I send, who will go for me?"
All - Here I am,
Lord. Send me.
