Opening Prayer

Yes, Lord, we lift your name up, and praise you from the heart, not just the head. You are an awesome God! Your love is steadfast and true, no matter what! Thank you for the gift of your Son, Jesus - his life, his teachings, his death for us, and his resurrection power.
So often we fail to live into what he said and did. We take it all for granted, or forget, or purposely choose another way. Forgive and live in us, that we might have the power to live what we believe.
Bless this time of worship, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Returning our Tithes and Offerings

Jesus came, he said, that we might life - abundant life (John 10:10), life that is more than we dare imagine, better than anything this world has to offer. A favorite new song at Shepherd’s Spring this year was "Mo’ Betah Lif." In the background of it you can almost hear tin drums playing along with its Jamaican style.
Since you might not fully understand the words to this song, which we’ll sing in a Jamaican way, let me read them in "mo bettah" English. Listen:
More ... better life for life!   More ... better life - enjoy!
More ... better life from the One who made you.
More ... better life in the Lord, says the Lord!
When you know the One who made you, More .. better life has begun
Hey, man - More ... better life to run!
I come for you to have more life, Better life than before.
As some of us sing this fun song to the Lord, why don’t you respond to this "mo’ betah lif" out of the abundance that God has given you. Will the ushers come forward now to receive our tithes and offerings?
