Opening Prayer

God, like the Psalmist, we see you as our mighty fortress, the height to which we look in praise as well as in our need. This church, this congregation, is a refuge for us, a hill where we acknowledge your goodness and greatness, and seek your presence, you love and your aid. Be with us as we worship here today. Amen

Returning our Tithes and Offerings

God brought this bountiful earth into being. We take pleasure in so many things we experience from day to day. Our bodily needs are provided in supermarkets, and rarely on our hands and knees in the garden. Our homes increase in value. Our pension accounts grow according to fixed formulas. Yet we take none of this with us when we leave. We are stewards - not owners. We now acknowledge our stewardship with our weekly sharing of tithes and offerings........The ushers will come to receive them.
